Arugga
Arugga develops multi-purpose greenhouse robots that address labour shortages, pest and disease, and the need for data-driven yield monitoring. It is the first company to commercialise a robot that replicates the buzz pollination traditionally performed by bumblebees, treating and monitoring individual plants as it works.
The pollination robots run from day one without interruption, avoiding the delays, risks and short lifespans of managing live hives. They can even pollinate where bumblebees cannot, such as under red LED lighting with screens closed, giving growers a stable and cost-effective alternative that lifts yield.
Beyond pollination, Arugga automates labour-intensive tasks such as plant lowering and collects flower-level data in real time, helping growers detect pests early and forecast yield. Where deployed, the robots have delivered yield improvements of 3 to 7% alongside reduced labour dependency.
